It's made from a solid piece of cast brass - i.e. molten brass is poured into a mould, which then goes through a series of processes by hand, and ultimately polished to have this antiqued finish. It is not made from pressed brass or iron, as many would be. It's heavy, serious, substantial and utterly lovely. Man and nature in perfect unison.
